I know mine is authentic because I bought in directly from AG.
FYI- also some Kaya dolls have GRIL on them and they come directly from AG. so I am not worried on that. It is when you have gotten the doll from another source, that is when my red beeper goes off! lol!
My daughter just came zooming downstairs, grabbed my Lindsey, and checked her tag... It's a gril! I guess I'd better go find the digital camera...
Our Lindsey also says GRIL or GRLL the type is SO small with a 2008. I just compaired her against the FAKE lindsey album (Nora, I believe) as well as the pictures on Kurt's site and feel that our doll is not a fake. Lindsey has a different face mold that than everyone else in our house. I just lined up everyone up for their Mug Shot like inspection. Lindsey has a wider, rounder face with larger eyes and more white visible than Felicity, Marisol, Kailey and Unknown AG today but not to the exent that Nora has. Wasn't Lindsey made using Addy's face mold?

How could AG make such a mistake? I am quite shocked knowing how prestigious AG is.
My Kaya says American GRIL on her tag. I thought Lindsey had Kit's face mold.
My Lindsey can't be a fake because my mom bought her directly from the American Girl website as a birthday present for me a couple of years ago.
My Lindsey is also authentic, and her tag says GRIL. I think it's rather cool; it makes her unique from the other girls here! (except I never looked at Marisol's tag...)
I hope she was made with Kit's face mold...cuz that supports my theory that Lindsey was based off a suggestion I sent to AG
